This morning I decided to try baking bread using Farnsworth's recipe.
French Bread
Dissolve 2 packages yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Then add the following:
5 tbsp oil
3 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp salt
2 cups hot water
Mix together and then add 3 cups of flour, mix. Then add 3 more cups of flour and mix. Total of 6 cups of flour. The dough will be sticky.
Let set 10 minutes and then stir again and beat down. Do this 5 more times.
Divide dough in 2 parts and twist into French bread form and place on greased cookie sheet. Brush with egg white and sprinkle with corn meal.
Bake at 375 to 400 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes. Makes 2 large loaves.
I brushed one of the loaves with water and sprinkled with sesame seeds and the other I did not put anything on it.
